The flight plan app can be downloaded for free from the Apple AppStore. The free version gives you the opportunity to prepare and file VFR, IFR as well as composite (Y/Z) ICAO flight plans. The app works worldwide1.
The free app is fully functional for all VFR operations and also supports basic IFR flight plan filing. For advanced features, such as the IFR routing engine, premium support or satellite (tracking) mode support, you have to buy a yearly subscription as an in-app purchase from the Apple AppStore.
The first month of that subscription is a free trial, after which you can cancel your subscription at any time. The subscription is fully managed through your Apple AppStore account.

2 You can file IFR flight plans with our Free App. However, in order to find validated IFR routes within the EUROCONTROL area, you need to upgrade.
3 Finding good IFR routes within the EUROCONTROL area can be a challenge. With our IFR routing engine, we find and then offer optimal and validated routes.
4 We have our own VFR addressing engine. This engine looks at your flight path and addresses the flight plan to the correct stations.
5 The total Estimated Elapsed Time (EET) forecast depends on the forecasted winds aloft along your route as well as the climb performance of your aircraft. We calculate the EET using the GFS weather model and your aircraft performance model.
6 The app supports several generic aircraft performance models such as for non-aspirated aircraft, turbo aircraft, jet prop aircraft as well as for jets. Just select the appropriate performance model when you configure your aircraft in our app.
7 Our app shows your route on a map with below it a vertical weather profile of the forecasted cloud layers, the freezing and -20 degrees Celsius levels, and type of clouds (convective or not) to expect. The information is based on weather model data and gives you a good generic forecast of the weather to expect en route. It is most precise as you get closer to your departure date and time.
8 With a valid flight plan subscription, you can use the login credentials of your flight plan app with our weather app as well without having to buy a subscription for the weather app. All the pro features of the weather app are included for as long as your flight plan app subscription is valid.
9 You can send a briefing pack to yourselves by e-mail.
10 You can send yourselves a GRAMET image by e-mail of the expected weather en route in a vertical format. It is more extensive than the vertical route profile that you can observe in the app when viewing your route map.
11 File GAR and GenDec forms from within our app with data from www.onlinegar.com. You need an account with OnlineGar.com to use it.
12 Integrated support for sending GenDec and GAR forms from within our flight plan app. No external account needed with OnlineGar.com or other services.
13 The app supports in-app tracking with Spot Messenger Gen 3, Delorme Inreach or ADL satellite trackers.
14 With the Iridium Go! device and our flight plan app, you can create and file flight plans in the air, search for valid routes and monitor the status of your flight plan using the satellite network connection created by the Iridium Go! device in your aircraft. Available as of November 2016.
15 We offer 24/7 support to those with a valid flight plan subscription. We are not staffed day and night, but one of us is on duty to help in case of emergencies with your flight plan. In case you have filed your flight plan, there is 24/7 support for it through the Eurocontrol helpdesk.
